Nick grew up in a civil construction family. His parents were both civil engineers who moved overseas, built a life, and grew their own construction business from the ground up — his father in structural steel fabrication, his mother running her own business in formwork, loading platforms, and safety screens.
Construction was not something explained to Nick. It was just how things were. Drawings on the table, hard hats at the door, conversations about sites, schedules, and projects. Major infrastructure going up across Sydney's CBD was the backdrop of everyday life.
That upbringing shaped everything that followed.
Nick has been in recruitment since 2012. Over that time his focus narrowed deliberately — toward construction, then civil construction specifically, then the U.S. market. Six years ago he moved to North America and committed fully to the U.S. civil sector.
That is not a pivot. It is a progression that started long before recruitment did.
